What is the general adaptation syndrome?
General model of physiological response to stress over time .
stated that the more stressors, the less able to cope AND stress is a major cause of disease
What is the effect of stress on the immune system? COHEN
the greater the stress, the more immunosuppressed
What are some of the physiological reactions to stress?
Cognitive impairment, anger, depression, anxiety.
What is post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)?
a natural emotional reaction to a deeply shocking and disturbing experience .

thinking of or doing two things at once
