What was the Dawes plan?
The Dawes Plan was where Germany had to pay reparations each year. It was signed in 1924. They also received loans from America (around 25 million). The Dawes plan also reduced the amount of money Germany had to pay each year (50 million).
Why would some Germans be worried about the Dawes plan?
Some Germans may be worried and angry about the Dawes Plan because it meant Germany had to rely on America’s loans. If they are fully dependent on America and America’s economy fails then so would Germany’s.
Who was Gustav Stresemann?
He was a German statesman who served as chancellor in 1923 and as foreign minister until 1929.
What was the Young Plan?
The Young plan reduced the total amount of reparations Germany had to pay the allies. . It was reduced from 6.6 billion to 2 billion. Germany were given an extra 59 years to pay this.
When was the Young Plan created?
It was created in August 1929.
What was The Rentenmark?
The Rentenmark was the new currency in Germany which Stresemann set up.
What was the Locarno Pact?
The Locarno Pact was where Germany , France and Belgium agreed to be peaceful with each other and respect the borders, even the borders made because of the Treaty of Versailles.
What was the League of Nations?
The League of Nations was an international group founded by the allies, and was created to discuss and resolve problems, it was created in 1920 but Germany were not allowed to join till 1926. When they did join they had some power again.
What was the Kellogg-Briand Pact?
The Kellogg Brian Pact was between many different countries, it ensured that no country used violence or acts of war to settle disputes. It was signed by Germany in 1928.
When was the Locarno Pact signed?
1st December 1925.
What happened to Rhineland?
It stayed demilitarised.
