Strengths Flashcards
Skills - Observations (3)
1) Great first touch on the chest to set himself for a shot, good shot into the bottom corner
2) Good control / skill / composure and 1 touch passing in the middle of the pitch
3) Core skills e.g. shooting, control, dribbling, passing (relate back to the game)
Shooting - Both feet, short and long range
Control - Both feet, chest and thigh
Dribbling - Both feet, close control -> beats opponent
Passing - Both feet, short and long
Skills - Success on performance (2)
1) Good ball control, gets himself a couple yards of space, shoots and scores
2) Keeps possession for his team, slows the game down
Skills - Application to theory (2)
1) Ankle joint -> plantar flexion to strike through the ball
Joint = Hinge
Agonist = Gastrocnemius
Antagonist = Tibialis anterior
2) Modern technology -> 4G pitch means even and constant bounce -> also allows games to be played in all weather conditions, as the pitch can’t be waterlogged
Tactics - Observations (3)
1) Plays a great corner into a dangerous area inside the 6 yard box
2) Great attacking positioning with a run off the shoulder of the last defender
3) Capable of playing multiple positions in the 4-3-3. Played left wing, right wing and central midfield. Clearly understood his role as he excelled in all 3 positions
Tactics - Success on performance (3)
1) Produces a great goal scoring opportunity
2) Difficult to mark, always open to receive the ball -> on this occasion, the run left him 1v1 with the keeper (scored)
3) Good versatility, provides numerous options for the manager
Tactics - Application to theory (3)
1) Massed / fixed practice -> over learning the skill of taking the corner and hitting that area -> becomes natural
2) Intrinsic feedback / Knowledge of results / Knowledge of performance -> knows that his run worked after he went on to score
3) Autonomous stage of learning -> he can apply his skills to a number of different positions -> it is all natural
Fitness - Observations (3)
1) Tracks back opposition winger -> shows great aerobic endurance
2) Shows good strength to win the ball back off the defender and then hold him off to win a foul
3) Core - Relate to game!
CV endurance - Tracking back winger in latter stages of game
Musc endurance - Played the whole 90 minutes
Strength - Hold off defenders, win duels
Agility / Balance - High speed dribbling
Fitness - Success on performance (2)
1) Prevents opposition having an attacking overload and wins possession back for his team
2) Wins possession back then wins a free kick in a dangerous area
Fitness - Theory (3)
1) High levels of aerobic endurance / VO2 max. Male -> larger lung capacity, more SO muscle fibres -> low fatigue resistance
2) Higher levels of static / dynamic strength. Male -> typically stronger, greater cross sectional area of muscle fibres
3) CV ADAPTATIONS / STRENGTH ADAPTATIONS TO BE ADDED
