Summary:
Blanche bathes for the final time in the play, believing that Shep will come to pick her up; Eunice and Stella discuss how “life has got to go on”, but the doctors arrive. Blanche is erratic, but the doctor comforts her until she willingly goes with him. Stella is racked with guilt, whilst Eunice hands her the baby, Stanley slips a hand in her blouse.
