What was the procedure of the SS?
A
- 26 pairs (American mother + child)
- first year of child’s life they took part in a naturalistic observation every 3-4 weeks for 3-4 hours
- at 1, they were brought into a lab to do a controlled observation

What were the findings of the SS?
A
- 70% of pairs were securely attached
- 10% were insecure-avoidant
- 20% were insecure-resistant
