Genre
Is the book Fiction or Non-Fiction? Can also be more specific (Realistic Fiction, Fantasy, Sci-fi, Mystery)
Plot
The major events that happen in the story
Character Trait
Something that describes a person. Can be physical (how they look) or about their personality (how they behave)
Protagonist
The main character of the story
Antagonist
A character or multiple characters that are against the protagonist
Conflict
The situation that must be solved by the protagonist
Theme
A large life lesson that is shown through the plot and characters of a story
Point of View
How a story is written: First-Person (I went to the store, My shoes are too tight)/ Third-Person (Joe went to the store, Joe’s shoes are too tight)
Inference
Using details to draw conclusions
Summary
A short retelling of the plot
Fiction
Stories that are created by the author and not something that actually happened
Non-Fiction
Information about real things that exist and have happened.
Setting
Where and when a story takes place
