Person, Place Thing, or Idea
Verb
An action or Being word
Ex: (Being Verb: is, am are, was)
Pronoun
Takes the place of a Noun
Ex: He, She, They, It
Adjective
Modifies/Describes a Noun
Adverb
Modifies/Describes any word that is not a Noun (Not just verbs
Conjunction
Combines words and phrases
Ex: For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So,
Preposition
Shows position and time and physical space
Interjection
a sudden word that shows emotion, usually an interruption.
Ex: Hey, Wow,
Independent Clause
A group of words that has a Subject (Noun), Predicate (Verb), and a Complete Thought
Can stand on it’s own as a sentence
Dependent Clause
A group of words that has DOES NOT HAVE a Subject (Noun), Predicate (Verb), and a Complete Thought
Can’t stand on it’s own as a sentence
Subject
A Noun that is doing the Predicate (Verb) of the sentence
Predicate
A Verb that is being done or just being by the Subject (Noun)
