Translation
You say not the exalted Except the content and the ascetic And he is not honoured who is satisfied And he is not humiliated who aspires Your word is beloved With its beauty and good nature However it is deceitful An imposter and deceptive There is no beloved for it It’s end is near Bored and disloyal There is no trust for it The dearest separate The companions break up War for whom is its peace Impatient who adheres to him Honour of it is lowly More of it is less It’s reunion brings pains Turning away from it is tribulation The ignorant obtain with it The cowards live in luxury The intelligent are miserable in it The educated work hard.
