A
  1. don’t play with matches or lighters
  2. do not pour any fuel or lighter gel onto burning fires
  3. make sure candles are in steady candleholders and not near anything that can catch alight
  4. place fireguards in front of fireplaces
  5. Do not dry clothes on or near a heater or cooker
  6. never leave pots cooking on the stove when an adult is not in the kitchen
  7. if you suspect a gas leak from a cylinder, turn off the supply and call a gas supplier
  8. do not use damaged electrical appliances
  9. always make sure you extinguish outdoor camp fires
