A. Sales Productivity Ratios = Sales per square foot, turnover, return on investment (choose based on constraining factor)
B. Model Stock Approach = Space needed for desired positioning (what customers expect)
what are the floor plan/flow options?
- grid = High volume, low price, routine, convenient, not exciting or suitable for browsing (grocery store!)
- controlled flow = forced past merch, more impulse buy (ikea)
- free flow = Encourages browsing, impulse. Less convenient/more time consuming, broad view of merchandise (clothing store)
