Cued recall
Cued recall is the retrieval of memory with the help of cues.
Long term memory
Long-term memory refers to the storage of information over an extended period.
Short term memory
Short-term memory has a fairly limited capacity; it can hold about seven items for no more than 20 or 30 seconds at a time.
Examples of short term memory
where you parked your car this morning, what you had for lunch yesterday, and remembering details from a book that you read a few days ago
Examples of long term memory
Dates such as birthdays, graduations, weddings, and work skills you learned in your first job out of school.
Free recall
a subject is presented and a list of to-be-remembered items, one at at time. it is called a free recall task because the subject is free to recall the items in any order that he or she desires.
