  • The discs can easily be scratched or damaged potentially loosing all of the data stored on them
  • Slower data transferring rate
  • Required specific drives to to write data to the discs

Advantages of solid state

A
  • Portable
  • Has no moving parts meaning that less can break with the storage device
  • Faster than hard disk drives
  • Faster than a HDD
