What is physical security?
Physical security describes security measures that are designed to deny unauthorized access to facilities, equipment and resources and to protect personnel and property from damage or harm (such as espionage, theft, or terrorist attacks
Examples of physical security
- Locks, Dead locks, Door chains, Strike plate reinforcement
* Biometrics
Locks
Different types of locks:
•Smart locks, only allow access to certain people with an electronic key
•Deadbolts, Add an extra layer of security against impact, lock picking and lock bumping.
Biometrics
- Iris scan
* Fingerprint reader
Tokens/Key fob
A security token/key fob
•Small hardware device
•Authorizes entry
Privacy screens
Privacy screens prevent people from being able to look at your car mounted screen and see classified or private information.
Shredding
Shredding paper means that no third party can retrieve them to use against the company or any customers that the documents may have been regarding.
