Stopping distance is the time between the driver seeing the hazard and the car coming to a stop.

Thinking distance is the distance the car moves before the driver reacts to a hazard and steps on the brakes.
What is braking distance?
Braking distance is the distance the car moves after the driver steps on the brakes and before the car comes to a stop.

Intoxication via drugs/alcohol/smoking, fatigue, distractions such as phones and loud music.
