Were John Aubrey’s assumption on Stonehenge correct?
Not really - His observations were accurate but his interpretations wrong. Druids, reconstruction of social life.
Were William Stukeley’s assumption on Stonehenge correct?
More accurate than Aubrey - he made observations of a basic archaeological character. 1) re-Roman period with artefacts 2) Prehistorical migrations 3) Model to study related structures 4) Interpretations in light of historical knowledge.
He still mentions the Druids though.
