A

1 . disorders of yang ming (facial part) channel in head
2. disorders of upper jiao: LU, HT, chest
3. disorders of middle jiao: epigastrum, ST, SP
4. disorders of lower jiao: uterus, UB. SI, LI
5. Deficiencies of qi, blood, yin and yang (bec digests food into qi/blood/yin fluids)
6, disorders of breast
7. Shen disturbance= mania= too fast
8. febrile disease

shao yang- alt chills and fever
yang ming- fever

A

One branch: Starts ST 40- connects w/ SP channel

Primary branch: up lateral aspect of Tibia to top of head- then downwards to connect w/ throat

  2. removes obstruction from CH relieves pain- facial paralysis, deviation of mouth, tooth ache, twitching, roving eyeball
  3. benefits tendons and muscles: face (paralysis, aphasia, excessive salivation, spasm of eyelid; inability to eat) legs (atrophy disorder w/ inability to walk, swelling of leg)

Not so frequently used bec of location; no long needle retention; push carotid artery back- then needle

  1. regulates qi and blood (between head and body) and lowers rebellion (ST, LU, LV): controls HBP
  2. removes masses
  3. benefits throat: tonsils, tongue, speech
  4. relieves swelling: lymph nodes, thyroid, tonsils, pharyngitis
  5. alleviates pain (acute lumbar)!
