A
Urea breath test (cannot have had PPIs in last 2 weeks or antibiotics in last 4 weeks)

H Pylori eradication
A
Triple therapy
1. lansoprazole
2. amoxicillin
3. metronidazole or clarithromycin

Urgent referral criteria for dysphagia
A
all patients with dysphagia

Urgent referral criteria for dyspepsia
A
> 55 + weight loss
AND one of the following
+upper abdo pain
+reflux
+dyspepsia

Barrets treatment
A
PPI
3-5 yearly endoscopies
high grade dysplasia: radio frequency ablation or endoscopic mucosal resection

GORD treatment if endoscopically proven oesophagitis
A
full dose PPI 1-2 months and then lower dose as required. If no response, double dose PPI 1 month.
