Severe: admitted and IV corticosteroids
mild, moderate and severe flare criteria
> 4 stools: mild
4-6 stools: moderate
6 stools: severe
severe relapse or >2 excaberations of UC in a year
azathioprine
medication to induce remission in Crohns
- glucocorticoids
- +mercaptopurine or azathioprine
IBS management
pain: antispasmodic (mebeverine)
constipation: laxatives -> avoid lactulose
diarrhoea: loperamide
2nd: tricyclic antidepressants
which PPI reduces the efficacy of clopidogrel
omeprazole -> give lansoprazole instead
