How do you clean a stoma?

A

with soap and water many times a day

  • especially when new with scabs, take diligent care
  • don’t use cotton ball or q-tip
  • use something without fibers
  • always use items with long handles (not tweezers)
  • can use KY jelly/surgical lube
  • don’t use Vaseline
