Men: painful ruination, urethral discharge
Women: cervicitis, mucus, PID discharge, dysuria, painful sex

Abstain from sex 1 wk after treatment or until complete, notify partners from at least 60 days past

Gonorrhea

Men: dysuria, purulent urethral discharge, epididymitis
Women: increased discharge, urinary frequency, bleeding after sex
Rectal sex: discharge, bleeding, pain, pruritus, painful BM

Abstain during treatment/1wk after

Trichomoniasis

Men: burning with urination and ejaculation, urethral discharge
Women: painful urination, vaginal itching, painful intercourse, strawberry cervix look, yellow green discharge

Abstain from sex during treatment, treat last 60 days partners

Question 4

Genital herpes

Answer 4

Blisters that are on or near sex organs, flu symptoms, painful urination

Complication: blindness, encephalitis, aseptic meningitis, can be passed to baby

Keep lesions clean and dry, pour water on perineal area while voiding, ice packs

Question 5

Syphilis

Sore throat, genital ulcers, rashes on hands

Complications: disease of liver, skin, and bone

Treat same as others

Question 6

Genital warts

Answer 6

White, gray, pink, brown, growths, may look like cauliflower

Complications: overgrowth of warts, cancer

HPV vaccine, removal of warts
