Thick yellow discharge, dysuria
Vaginal discharge, dysuria, insert menstrual bleeding/post coital
More common in MSM
Gonorrhoea diagnosis
Nucleic acid amplification test on urine
swab vag, rectum, throat
Gram stained smear urthera/cervix/rectum
Gonorrhoea treatment
Cefriaxone 500mg IM
Azithromycin 1g if needed
Herpes
Burning itching Blistering Tender ulceration Tender inguinal lymphadenopathy w flu like symptoms Dysuria, back pain
Herpes diagnosis
Clinical impression
Swab lesion using PCR
Herpes treatment
Aciclovir 400mg for 5 days and lidocaine ointment
Trichomoniasis
Trichomonas vaginalis A sympt in men Some women thin vaginal discharge- green, frothy and foul swelling Vulvitis Miscarriage and pre term labour
Trichomoniasis diagnosis and treat
PCR vagina swab
Metronidazole 400mg 6 days or 2g single dose
Anogenital warts
HPV 6 and 11
Lumps w califlower texture
Itching and bleeding occasionally
Anogenital warts diagnosis and treat
Appearance Biopsy if unusual Podophyllotoxin Imiquimod Cryotherapy
Syphilis
Local ulcer Rash, ulceration, patchy alopecia, neuro symptoms Early latent= less than 2 year Late latent= more than 2 years Most MSM

Clinical signs
Serology
PCR ulcer
Early- benzathine penicillin or doxycycline 14 days
Late- benzathine penicillin 3X or doxycycline 28 days
Chlamydia
Discharge Pain peeing Bleeding after sex/between periods Stomach pain Painful swollen testes

Swabs
Doxycycline 100mg 7 days
