Rare, Medium Rare, Medium, Medium Well, and Well
Define “Rare” relative to doneness.
Rare is defined as a steak cooked to an internal temperature between 100 and 129 degrees with a cool red center.
Define “Medium Rare” relative to doneness.
Medium Rare is defined as a steak cooked to an internal temperature between 115 and 129 degrees with a warm red center and a hint of pink.
Define “Medium” relative to doneness.
Medium is defined as a steak cooked to an internal temperature between 130 and 149 degrees with a warm pink center.
Define “Medium Well” relative to doneness.
Medium Well is defined as a steak cooked to an internal temperature between 150 and 164 degrees with some pink in the center.
Define “Well” relative to doneness.
Well is defined as a steak cooked to an internal temperature between 165 and 175 degrees with no pink and cooked all the through the center.
