1 - There sat a

2 - Come in

3 - An antique
“An antique scabbard; but no sword was in it.”
4 - Scrooge is willing to go with the Ghost.
“Conduct me where you will. I went forth last night on compulsion, and I learnt a lesson which is working now.”
5 - The word profit is beginning to change meaning for Scrooge.
“Let me profit by it”
6 - The ghost blesses the food of those he passes and explains why when Scrooge questions this.
“To a poor one most… Because it needs it most.”
7 - The ghost criticizes the Church.
‘There are some upon this earth of yours,” returned the Spirit, “who lay claim to know us, and who do their deeds of passion, pride, ill-will, hatred, envy, bigotry, and selfishness in our name.’
8 - Mrs Cratchit is making an effort to embrace the Christmas spirit.
“Mrs Cratchit… dressed out but poorly in a twice-turned gown, but brave in ribbons”
9 - He told me
“He told me… it might be pleasant to them to remember upon Christmas Day, who made lame beggars walk, and blind men see.”
10 - Scrooge is interested in Tiny Tim’s wellbeing and is given sad news.
“Tell me if Tiny Tim will live.”
‘I see a vacant seat,” replied the Ghost, ‘… and a crutch without an owner”
11 - Bob shows gratitude to his employer, despite his poor treatment and the effect on the family.
“I’ll give you Mr Scrooge, the Founder of the Feast!”
“The mention of his name cast a dark shadow on the party”
12 - Fred holds no bad feelings towards Scrooge.
“However, his offences carry their own punishment, and I have nothing to say against him”
13 - My life upon
“My life upon this globe, is very brief,” replied the Ghost. “It ends tonight.”
14 - This boy is
“This boy is Ignorance. This girl is Want. Beware them both.”
15 - The ghost repeats Scrooge’s earlier words to him.
“Are there no prisons? …Are there no workhouses?”
