Confidence interval
A confidence interval is an interval that contains an unknown
parameter with a certain probability. The probability that the
confidence interval contains the parameter is called the confidence
coefficient or just confidence.
Type 1 Error
Type 2 Error
p-value
The p-value provides the probability of
getting the observed, or more extreme data,
assuming the null hypothesis is true.
null hypothesis
a hypothesis that says there is no statistical significance between the two variables
α
“alpha” = significance level in hypothesis test, or acceptable probability of a Type I error (probability you can live with). 1−α = confidence level.
H0
The null hypothesis, H0, is a statistical proposition stating that there is no significant difference between a hypothesized value of a population parameter and its value estimated from a sample drawn from that population.
