Statistics Flashcards
is a mathematical science
including methods of
collecting, organizing and
analyzing data in such a way
that meaningful conclusions
can be drawn from them.
Statistics
TWO CATEGORIES OF STATISTICS
Descriptive Statistics
Inferential Statistics
used to describe a
mass of data in a
clear, concise, and
informative way
Descriptive Statistics
concerned with making generalizations
about the characteristics of a larger set
where only a part is examined

Inferential Statistics
Parametric Tests like:
T-test
ANOVA
Correlation
used to compare two
different groups of data from
one population
Dependent Sample T-Test
it answers if there is a
significant effect
between those two
groups/ population.
Dependent Sample T-Test
used to compare data from
two groups
Independent Sample T-Test
it answers if there is a
significant difference
between those two
groups/ population.
Independent Sample T-Test
used to compare data from
three or more groups
ANOVA
it answers if there is a
significant difference
between those groups/population.
ANOVA
used to measure whether there
exist a statistically significant
linear relationship between two
continuous variables
Pearson Correlation
it also gives us the
strength of linear
relationship (weak/
strong) and direction of
relationship (positive or
negative)
Pearson Correlation
