it is the build up of electrical charges on a surface of an object
what is static electricity caused by

what does friction cause
causes electrons to be transferred from the surface on one object onto the surface of another

1, attract or reel each other
- cause a spark to jump from one object to another
what is e rule of attraction and repulsion
attraction - like charges repel
repulsion - unlike charges attract
does static electricity occur in mid or dry air
dry air because when it is humid , water molecules build up on the surface of an object which then prevents the build up of electrical charges

how are sparks caused
when electrons from negatively charged objects jump acrosss a gap to a positively charged object
this movement of electrons between objects causes a spark
why is a spark formed
because electrons loose energy when thy move across a gap
how is thunder caused
when the spark heats the air around it so rapidly it causes a thunder clap
