Q

How does spray painting a car work?

A

The paint when leaving the gun is made negative so the car is positive or visa versa. As opposite charges attract to each other the paint would stick to the car.(no dust so it does not stick to anything as could get charged).

Q

How does filtering factory smoke work?

A

The waste smoke goes through a metal grid at a high voltage so the particles of dirt will be charged oppositely to the metal plates on the side so when they pass through they would attract filtering the smoke from dust.

Q

How does a photocopier work?

A

The copying plate is given a charge then an image of the page is projected onto the charged copying plate. After the black ink powder is attracted to the charged parts of the plate then the ink powder it transferred onto the paper. After the place where light hits the plate the charge leaks away leaving a pattern onto the page. Then the paper is heated so the powder stickers to the paper as it’s melted. Then your done.
