What is your community service initiative?

• Operation Homefront, Supporting our Veterans is my Community Service Initiative

Why did you pick Operations Heroes and why is your community service initiative important to you?

Answer 2

• I am from a Military Family and want to give back to those who have served
• Dad is my Hero, served in the United States air force building bombs that have dropped in many wars
• Mom is also civilian service and dedicated 18 years working with military families
• We need to support and give back to our veterans and Operation Homefront is a great way to support and volunteer.

What is operation homefront (OH)?

• OH is a national nonprofit with a mission to build strong, stable and secure military families even through good and bad times
• 47% of veterans and their families need help either while active duty or when they are veterans
• OH has offered many programs since I was born to help veterans this includes: family support, financial support and transitioning in the military

What all have you done with OH? What do you plan on doing in the future with them?

As a volunteer lead with Operation Homefront, I have had the honor of working with many military families.

• Backpack Brigade, handing out over 400 backpacks to our military youth and speaking with many of our veterans about OH. I also volunteered in November to help feed our veterans for the Holiday meals and collecting toys in December for their military Santa Toy Drive.

My biggest accomplishment was this past May when I hosted the first ever Start Spangled Baby OH Event for Minot, ND. I collected over $5,000 dollars to make this event happen with the help and support of Operation Homefront. Over 25 military families went home with new baby items, listened to speakers from the community and were able to enjoy a dinner to honor and celebrate them!

What would you do with your community service if selected as NDT?

• I would use this platform and opportunity to travel throughout the state to lead events with Operation Homefront.
• The title would support my personal mission to help not only the 47% of military families struggling, but to also give back to our veterans who have given so much to this great country.

What made you choose Operation Homefront?

Answer 6

Being brought up in a military family I knew I wanted to give back to the military community and our veterans. I started researching with my mom different organizations and OH really stood out to me with their beliefs and values. I became a volunteer in 2021 and attend as many events as I can to give back to our military community, especially here in ND!
