Standards Flashcards
Hover Common Standards
-Heading: +/- 10 degrees
-Altitude: +/- 2 ft (IGE) or +/- 10 ft (OGE)
-Drift do not exceed 3 ft IGE or 12 ft OGE
-Forced landing or single engine flyaway plan at OGE
-Ground track: within 3 ft
-Constant rate of movement
-Constant rate of turn
In-Flight Common Standards
-Heading: +/- 10 degrees
-Ground track alignment w/ min drift
-Altitude: +/- 100 ft
-Airspeed: +/- 10 kts
-Rate of Climb or Descent: +/- 200 Fpm
-Trim: +/- ball width
-Ack low altitude warning audio
Ground Taxi Standards
-Maintain speed
-Ground track: +/- 3 ft
-Trq: 22-25%
-Taxi check
-Level Fuselage attitude
Rolling Takeoff
BEFORE LIFTOFF
1. Stabilator to 0 degrees
2. Maintain TQ 10% below hover TQ +/- 3%
3. Accelerate aircraft while maintaining heading +/- 5 degrees
4. Maintain nose at or above horizon line until takeoff
AFTER LIFTOFF
1. Maintain TQ limit +/- 3%
2. Maintain ground track
3. Aircraft in trim
4. Climb angle appropriate for terrain and obstacles
5. MAX R/C or desired airspeed
Roll-On Landing
- At or above ETL (MIN DE airspeed IGE limited)
- Maintain ground track with landing direction
- Constant approach angle
- Runway/landing area alignment +/- 5 degree
Limited Power Takeoff
BEFORE TAKEOFF
1. ETL Point
2. ABORT Point
3. USE IF IGE IS NEAR MAX PWR AVAILABLE
Dual Engine Failure
- A/C in position to make landing location prior to 200 ft AGL
- Visually Check and call out Nr, Airspeed and trim (Steady State Factors: Nr, Airspeed, Trim, in position to land)
- Ensure airspeed at or above 70 KTAS prior to iniation of deceleration (No lower than 80 ft AGL)
Single Engine Landing standards
- Maintain airspeed at or above VSSE until 30 ft AGL
- Maintain ground track alignment with landing direction with min drift
- Maintain constant approach angle to the first 1/3 of the landing surface
- Maintain runway, or suitable landing area, alignment + or - 5 degrees
Task 1184: Respond to IIMC
- Announce IMC and immediately transition to instrument flight
- Level the aircraft wings on the attitude indicator or appropriate symbology
- Maintain heading; turn only to avoid known obstacles
- Adjust TQ to climb power
- Adjust to climb airspeed
- Maintain aircraft in trim +/- ball width
- Set transponder to emergency (7700)
- Contact ATC as appropriate, and comply with ATC instructions, local regulations, and SOPs
(Task 1058) Perform VMC Conditions Approach
- Select a suitable landing area
- Evaluate power required versus power available for the type of approach selected
- Maintain a constant approach angle to the desired point of termination (hover or touchdown) with deviations for surface conditions or obstacles at the point of termination
- Maintain ground track alignment with the landing direction w/ minimum drift
- Maintain rate of closure appropriate for the conditions
- Align aircraft with landing direction below 50 feet or as appropriate for obstacle avoidance
- Perform a smooth and controlled termination to a hover or the ground at the intended point of touchdown
