Definition of Hazard Zone
Any area that requires an SCBA, charged hoseline, special protective clothing, or in which firefighting personnel are at risk of becoming lost, trapped or injured by the environment or structure.

Standard for Fire Service Respiratory Protection Training recognizes air consumed after notification of the low air alarm as reserve air and states the following:
-NFPA 1404 -The individual shall exit from an IDLH atmosphere before consumption of reserve air begins. -The individual shall recognize that the low air alarm notification indicates that the member is consuming reserve air. -Command Officers will order crews out of the structure/IDLH atmosphere when evident that crew members are utilizing reserve air supply
