The pre-stall checklist is:

A

HASELL:

  1. Height - sufficient to recover by 3 000ft AGL
  2. Airframe - Flaps and landing gear as desired, brakes off, in trim.
  3. Security - Hatches and harness secure, no loose articles in the cockpit.
  4. Engine - Normal engine operation, fuel contents and selection checked, mixture and carb heat set
  5. Location - away from controlled airspace, towns, active aerodromes and other aircraft, and in visual conditions.
  6. look out - make an inspection turn.

Stall recovery without power:

A
  1. Move control column forward to un-stall the wings
  2. Prevent yaw or further yaw with rudder
  3. Ease out of dive

Stall recovery with power:

A
  1. Move control column forward to un-stall the wings
  2. Add full power(carb heat cold)
  3. Prevent yaw or further yaw with rudder
  4. Ease out of dive

Incipient spin recovery:

A

As the spin commences, simultaneously:

  1. Move control column to the central position(sufficient to un-stall the wings)
  2. Centralise rudder

When the rotation has stopped(with ailerons and rudder held in neutral position):

  1. Level wings
  2. Apply full power and regain altitude

Full spin recovery:

A
  1. Throttle Closed
  2. Ailerons neutral
  3. Confirm spin direction
  4. Apply full opposite rudder
  5. Move control column forward to un-stall wings
  6. Ease out of the dive
