How did stalin use propaganda?
-He posted pictures of hundreds of people lyning up to Lenin’s body
-He cut Trotsky out of pictures
-He made pictyres of himeself next to miners and rail way workers.
Why did stalin post himself next to miners and railway men?
He did this so it would make those people think he was with them and supporting them, He did this becuase these were some of the 2 most important groups in the rebuilding of the soviet union.
What did stalin do in Ukraine?
In ukraine there was ofte an unrealistic target that farmers HAD to meet in the amount of grain they produced, if they did not meet this quota there personal supplies would be taken away. This caused all the grain in that area to get taken which caused a mass famine in russia.
How did colective farms work?
Collective farms were massive plots of land which farmers go work at with comunity tools, free child care and much more advanced tools than what they would of been used to.
What was stalins five year plan?
Stalins five year plan was a plan that try to equalize the gap the west and russia, It involved mass industrail development and increase in production of materials such as iron or wheat.
What was his belive on the lack of development in russia? was it true?
Stalin believed russia was 100 years behind the west an without his plan they would never catch up. It is more likely that they were more like 25-50 years behind
Why was magnitogorske a failure?
It was a failure because of bad organisation such as having the city away from towns and not having enough housing.
what did stalins secret police do?
they arrested political oponents and citizens who were not in full support of stalin and took them to the gulags, they were called secret police but were often quite public about arresting people to make them fear speaking out.
What were the gulags?
The gulags were prison camps in siberia.
why could the data on stalin’s 5 year plan be unreliable?
Often stalin would kill the data collectors (or send them away) if the data was not what he wanted so they would just make up statistics
