Enforced famine?

A

To drive Russian industry all farms join together
Cons: many kulaks burned their crops,people were forced to give grains to state
Pros: no famine , 2million people knew how to drive tractors
People had to work less harder because they had more machinery
Enforced famine: peasants killed there live stock and burned their crops in total 5 million people died this way.

A

Began in 1934 when Kirov (leader of Leningrad ) was murdered Stalin used this to go on a purge his opponents . Wanted to scar his people
Stalin used yagodo to kill Kirov
Stalin put zinoviev and kamenev in trail they agreed to crimes and were sent to camp NKVD gives Stalin evidence of being spy

A

The great terror is when in 1937-38
NKVD the secret police hunted stalins real and fake imaginary
No one was safe
He killed the old Bolsheviks in the show trials were they
admitted to commiting crimes they didn’t do by torture
In 1938 Stalin killed the army officials
Finally he purged the NKVD and ended the great terror

Kulaks didn’t follow collectivisation and he created kulakisation he did this to blame them if anything went wrong “we must liquidate the kulaks”
Kulaks were found during the great terror and many people blamed others of being kulaks so they could be saved

What were the benefits and negatives of five year plans

A

Negative: people got paid very less and food prices were very high they kept falling from the first five year plans
People were not allowed to follow there religion
Many workers sent to prison for not working hard and being opponents to the Stalin
People were forced to do hard labour because the state came up with idea to prevent free movement so people had to work no matter what
Positives Russia were able to produced more resources more than 100% in the ten year period
People work harder so they don’t get fined for not producing the amount of resources needed
Women were given the chance to work due to day mother care

Why did Stalin win the leadership race and Trotsky lost

A

Trotsky did not take Stalin as a serious threat he felt secure he was to over confident on winning
Trotsky was falling ill in 1923 were he needed to be at his active which Stalin took advantage of
Stalin was a peasant so people thought he understood them better the letter which Lenin wrote before his death was hidden
Stalin was a commissar of nationalities and general secutary he used this to gives people power and they owed him and in this way he removed powerful leaders whom were a threat
