Business Analyst
Any person who performs business analysis, no matter their job title or organizational role.
Customer
Stakeholder who uses products or services produced by the enterprise and may have contractual rights or moral obligations that the enterprise must meet.
Domain Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Has in depth knowledge of a topic relevant to business need or solution scope.
End User
Stakeholder who directly interacts with the solution.
Implementation SME
Has specialized knowledge related to cost and implementation of solution components. Example: change manager, solution architect or information architect.
Operational Support
Responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of an operation system or product.
Project Manager
Responsible for managing the work required to deliver a solution that meets a business need, and for ensuring that the project’s objectives (scope, budget, schedule, resources, quality, and risk) are met while balancing project constraints.
Regulator
Responsible for the definition and enforcement of compliance, audit and regulatory standards.
Sponsor
Responsible for initiating the effort to define a business need and develop a solution that meets the need. Authorizes the work to be performed and control the funding budget and scope for the initiative.
Supplier
External stakeholder who provides products or services and may have contractual or moral obligations. Often in the form of a vendor or consultant.
Tester
Responsible for determining how to verify that the solution meets the defined requirements and quality standards, and conducting the verification process. Often in the form of a QA analyst.
