Word processor
Technological medium that permits to create, edit and save documents.
Main elements of the word screen
Quick Access Toolbar: Area where you can personalize the most used command buttons.
Title bar: It shows the name of the file and the name of the application
File menu/File tab: It shows the backstage view.
Ribbon: You can unroll and roll placing the mouse. (Command buttons/Working groups)
Ruler: It shows the size of the tabulators, margins of the sheet and indents of the text.
Status bar: It shows the total of pages, the number of words, the user dictionary, the different view buttons, the level and the slide button of the zoom.
How does Word appear when you open it?
It is opened as a blank document and it is assigned the initial name of Document1.
How can you create a document?
Follow the sequence File menu – New. Click on Blank document.
How is used the ENTER key?
It is used to end a sentence and start a new paragraph.
What is the Insertion point?
The blinking bar that is advancing according to your writing.
What is the default font and size of letter?
Calibri font and size 11. Left side assignment
What is the zoom button?
It allows to change the size of the working area (75%)
What is the Show/Hide button used to?
It is used to observe the characters of spacing, row or tabulations.
How to save a document?
Follow the sequence File menu-Save As-Examine.
How to open a document?
Follow the sequence File Menu-Open-Examine. It is addressed the folder or place of the document. The file is selected in the textbox. Click on Open.
How can you select a text with the keyboard?
By using (Ctrl) + Shift + Any Arrow/End/Home/PgUp/PgDown.
How can you eliminate a text?
By using Backspace, Del or Ctrl + Backspace.
What does the Undo button allow us to do?
To cancel actions previously done.
How to copy and cut a text?
You can copy/cut by clicking on the Copy button/Cut button, placing the cursor where you want to duplicate and clicking on the Paste button.
