Stabilator Flashcards
What happens every time power on reset is pressed?
Stab will program down 4 degrees
What inputs does the Stab receive?
C ollective stick position transducers
L ateral accelerometers
A irspeed transducer
P itch rate gyro
System response to collective stick position transducer, airspeed transducer or air data transducer, pitch rate gyro and lateral acceleration inputs.
What does the Stab provide for?
SCALP
Streamline airflow
Collective coupling
Angle of incidence
Lateral sideslip to pitch
Pitch rate feedback
Is Stab required for AFCS?
No, but it enhances FPS
What is the limit of actuator travel?
30-35 degrees
How much play allowed on trailing edge of stab? Tip caps?
1/4” trailing edge and 5/16” on tip caps. (When positioned at zero degrees).
What does the stabilator limit switch do?
Talks to stab position transmitter which sends info to cockpit indicators. Also stops stab from driving too far via switches that talk to stab amp and cuts off auto mode.
How fast do the stab actuators move?
The actuators move at a rate of 7.5 degrees per second
What must you have for stab auto mode to work?
For automatic mode operation, each amplifier (need powered working amplifier) receives airspeed, collective position and lateral acceleration signals.
(And limit switches not contacted and no command from slew switch)
At what airspeed does the collective stick position and acceleration signals come into play?
The collective stick position and lateral acceleration signals are faded in as airspeed increases from 30 to 60 knots.
