Why do Gen lights not illuminate before start up?

The Gen lights operate off the DC primary bus which needs AC power to operate.

So only receiving power off the batt bus (which is not connected to the DC primary bus), you will just have an “AC Ess Bus off”

With AC power, “AC Ess Buss off” disappears and you will only have “gen” lights.

Are the #1 and #2 electrical supplied together?

No, they are supplied separately but are interconnected through current limiters.

What must you have 2 gens (any) for at all times?

Answer 3

Blade device system.
If using APU gen for second source, apu light will not come on.
