Define discrimination
The unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people especially, on the ground of ethnicity, age, sex or disability.
What is direct discrimination
When someone is treated poorly do to a characteristic.
What is indirect discrimination?
When a practice or requirement is imposed that disadvantages of a group because of a personal characteristic.
Racism
Prejudice and discrimination based on race
Prejudice
Preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or experience
Harassment
Aggressive pressure or intimidation.
Gender stereotypes
A generalized view or preconception about attributes, or characteristics that are or ought to be possessed by women and men or roles that should be performed by man or women.
Risk factors
attributes, characteristics or exposures that increase risk.
Protective factors
Attributes, characteristics or exposures that decrease risk.
Stimulant
A substance that raises levels of physiological or nervous activity
Depressant
Substances that reduce arousal and stimulation
Hallucinogens
A drug that causes hallucination
Binge drinking
A consumption of an excessive amount of alcohol in a short period of time.
STI
An infection that can be passed from one person to another through sexual contact
