SSM_Homosexuality Flashcards
“I have rights.” “Homosexuals have the right to do what they want.” Women have the right to choose.”
Question: So you think we have the right to do anything we want?
Principe: Homosexuality is a behavior. Certain behaviors must be controlled. That’s what civility is.
“We were born this way” (02)
This is guilty of the Naturalistic Fallacy…so use Reductio on them…
“I was born to terrorize homosexuals” so you can’t blame me for wanting to harm you…I was merely born this way
Islamic terroists were born to fly planes into the world trade centers, so how can you condemn them?
Reductio shows that they hold absurd conclusion. Certain behaviors must be contained. We can not always act on our desires.
‘We were born this way” (01)
So you were born with a desire for homosexuality, yet also BORN with anatomical and reproductive functions for heterosexuality. Tell me, how do you decide which is the correct one to follow?
You should support me in my same-sex marriage ceremony…
Are you trying to push your morality on me?
Will you support me in my same-sex marriage ceremony?
Do you consider yourself a tolerant person? Are accepting of other people who different views than you? Are you non-judgmental? Do you believe yourself to be a non-bigot even if the other person has a different viewpoints than you?
Question to ask ssm proponents to show them ssm are NOT the SAME as HETEROsexual unions:
Why does the government recognize and promote heterosexual unions? –> Procreation (ssm can NOT reproduce –> thus, they are DIFFERENT – so all this EQUALITY talk is NON-SENSE
If homosexuality is the same as heterosexuality, then…
why are you making such a big deal about homosexuality? Why not just marry a member of the opposite sex?
“Same-sex marriage is a civil rights issue”
Really? In what way?
How did you come to that conclusion
(Civil rights have to do with inherent rights as a human being, not on our behaviors (i.e. homosexual behavior. Example: civil rights and race based on skin color (not a behavior)…homosexuality is a behavior, not a skin color)
