Why has the population grown so fast during the last 200 years?

Why does so much of the world’s population live on a relatively small area of the Earth?
Because only half of the land is usable by humans.
Deserts, high mountains and ice-covered lands cannot support large numbers of people.
What are the 2 types of migration?
internal (moving within the same country)
and international (movement between countries)

What is one type of internal migration?
urbanization

to leave a country and move to another
People emigrate (leave their country) and become immigrants in their new country.
Why has immigration increased so much during the last 200 years?
