Describe the Articles of Confederation.
States have the power. It is the 1st constitution. 1787 was the year the U.S. Constitution was written. Constitution belongs in the constitution and federalism era.
Describe the three fifths compromise.
3/5 slaves counted to determine representatives. Taxation. Representation.
What does Bi-Cameral Legislative mean?
It means a 2 house congress.
What does the 1st amendment say?
You have the freedom of speech, assembly, religion, and press.
What does the 3rd amendment say?
No quartering troops. Another way is, do not house soldiers unless you consult the owner.
What does the 4th amendment say?
No unreasonable searches. Or, you need a warrant.
What is the Separation of Powers?
The Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches. They are part of the Great Compromise. In the Virginia Plan.
Who was part of the Strong Central Government?
James Madison; Alexander Hamilton. They were Federalists
Who was part of the Strong State Government?
George Mason; Patrick Henry. They were Anti-Federalists.
What does the 6th amendment say?
You have the right to a speedy and public trial.
What does the 7th amendment say?
Jury trial in civil cases
What is the Bill of Rights?
Anti-Federalists added these to the constitution, the first 10 amendments.
