Advanced Technology eXtended (ATX)
Motherboard design that specifies dimensions, connections, I/O ports, and power supplies that are compliant.
Amperage (A) (AMP)
The amount of electricity, that’s going through a wire.
Application Programming Interface (API)
APIs allow communication from different softwares, allowing them to communicate with each other.
Display Port (DP)
A cable that connects a device or console to a display, or monitor.
Dual in-line Memory Module (DIMM)
A Dual In-line Memory Module (DIMM) is a printed on motherboard with memory integrated circuits, using DRAM, chips, and pins. Its used to store memory.
Embedded Multi-Media Controller (eMMC)
eMMC’s are attached to the printed circuit board. eMMC is an integrated flash memory system.
Information Processing System (IPS)
Information gets processed and gets turned into a more simple to understand context.
Kernel
The Kernel is an essential part of a computers OS. It helps with process and memory management, file systems, device control and networking.
Linux
Its an open-source OS, that anyone could use and its free. Linux is mostly used on servers.
PCI (express)
It’s used to connect high-speed expansion cards. They come in different sizes that recount to the number of bus lanes connected to the card, (sizes: x1, x4, x8, x16, x32.)
Server Rack
Its a piece of equipment meant to hold several if not many computing devices. It is made with allowance to wire management, cooling and security.
Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI)
Its the local computer bus that allows specifically made PCI expansion hardware to be attached into the computer.
