Q

What is the most common pathology of prostate cancer?

A

Adenocarcinoma

Adenocarcinoma is the most common type of prostate cancer, accounting for nearly all cases. There are two types of adenocarcinoma: acinar and ductal. Acinar adenocarcinoma is the most common type, affecting 90–95% of prostate cancers. It develops in the gland cells that line the prostate gland, while ductal adenocarcinoma starts in the cells that line the prostate gland’s tubes. Gland cells make prostate fluid.
