Features
A
About 5% of the population have spondylolisthesis but not all are symptomatic.
Pain is caused by extreme stretching of the interspinous ligaments or of the nerve roots, or a disc lesion.
Diagnosis is confirmed by lateral X-ray

Management
A
Strict flexion exercise program for at least 3 mths (avoid hyperextension)
Passive spinal mobilisation may help some
Lumbar corsets help but avoid if possible
Surgery is last recourse
