What did Sperry carry out to help support split brain research?

A

Patients with corpus collosum is cut to separate the two sides of the brain.
Control epileptic seizures
Shown images in right and left visual field. Normal Brian should process in both hemispheres.
Pic shown in right- patient could easily describe if shown in left, patient could not describe because language is processed in left hemisphere
They could however select the object with touch

How Sperry and later Gazzanigas Work supported split brain

A

Research clearly suggested that the left hemisphere is the analyser and the right hemisphere is the synthesiser
The right is more able to perform spatial and musical tasks and only contribute rudimentary words and phrases
The left appears to be more analytical and contributes greatly to verbal tasks
