A

Trace on thermoplast (slightly bigger so you can cut away lines)
When cold use a utility knife on thermoplast.
When warm use scissors: long smooth strokes.
Heat: 30 seconds- 2 minutes if temp is correct. (working time is 1-5 minutes)

6 Steps to Application

A
  1. Position patient then heat material.
  2. Dry material.
  3. Handle material gently.
  4. Maintain arches.
  5. Use skin creases as boundaries (distal palmar and thenar creases)
  6. Assure 2/3 length of forearm & 1/2 width of forearm.
