State 3 reasons that Britain issued the Proclamation of 1763
- Keep peace with Native Americans: Colonist could not live west of the Appalachian Mountains.
- Force colonist must live close to the coast
- The British could better control fur trade and stop smuggling

Why did colonists believe the Sugar Act and other laws violated their rights as British citizens.
Laws allowed officers to search without a jury and the colonists weren’t allowed to be considered innocent until proven guilty or have a trial by jury

He helped start the Sons of Liberty. To protest the Stamp Act, they burned effigies of tax collectors.

The Sugar Act
The Sugar Act of 1764 lowered the tax on sugar and molasses imported into the colonies. Brits hoped colonist would pay the tax instead of use smuggled goods to make rum. This Act also allowed officers to take smuggled goods wo permission this sparked more discontent over British taxation and lack of rights.
How was the Proclamation of 1763 was good for British and Native American relations.
The Proclamation barred colonists from moving west causing the British to maintain there rule and gave Native Americans there land.

Why did Britain place new taxes on the colonists?
The British government needed revenue to give 10,000 soldiers food and supplies. They also needed to pay back the money that borrowed for the French and Indian War
