Joint means together. All of the Virginia owners the Virginia company together. Stock is the word for the part of the company each person owned.

How did geography influence the way people lived in colonial Roanoke and Jamestown?
Roanoke was by the coast, so they focused on trading. Jamestown was more inland, so they farmed.
What Problems did the Roanoke people have ?
shortages of food and supplies, difficulties with the local Native American tribes, and the mysterious disappearance of the entire Roanoke Colony, which remains unsolved.
