compresses and supports abdominal viscera, flexes and rotates trunk
Internal oblique (innervation)
ventral rami & 1st lumbar nerve
Internal oblique (blood supply)
superior/inferior epigastric arteries and deep iliac circumflex arteries
External oblique (origin)
external surfaces of ribs 5-12
External oblique (insertion)
linea alba, pubic tubercle, anterior 1/2 of iliac crest
External oblique (action)
flexes and rotates trunk
External oblique (innervation)
ventral rami
External oblique (blood supply)
