Ladder Maintenance and Safety
Every Saturday and after each use inspect ladders for:
Loose bolts or rivets
Damaged hardware
Damage to structural components
Heat sensor label discoloration
Worn Halyard
Cleaning:
Clean with clear water (dry with chamois)
Lube pulley and locks with light weight oil prn
Lube guides with graphite
Safety Precautions:
Wear full protective safety gear including helmet and gloves
Watch hand placement with upping/downing the fly
Lift ladder with legs and not back
Tie excess halyard off to prevent tripping
Tie beam off to solid surface to stabilize ladder
Watch for under and above ground sources of electricity
